Janet
Janet Yates is a Charleston-based actress whose artistry extends far beyond the stage. Known for her versatility and expressive presence, she’s as comfortable delivering an intense dramatic monologue as she is lighting up a scene with subtle nuance. Years of performing have given her an instinctive understanding of how to move, hold, and express herself in a way that captivates.
In our session, Janet brought that same depth and emotional intelligence to the camera. Before the lens, she radiated poise and vulnerability in equal measure—qualities that make for the most compelling portraits. Styled in the luminous, sculpted light of classic Hollywood, she appeared as though she had stepped straight out of the golden age of cinema. Tammy is a young woman from Ukraine whose presence in Charleston is as captivating as her life story. She shares a close bond with her mother—whom I also had the honor of photographing in a boudoir session to celebrate her 60th birthday—making their portraits a shared legacy of beauty across generations.
With years of experience as an actress, stuntwoman, and model, Tammy carries herself with a quiet confidence and magnetic grace that only a life in the arts can cultivate. In front of the camera, she doesn’t merely pose—she inhabits a role, weaving emotion into every glance and gesture.
Her session was a seamless embodiment of the glamour of old Hollywood, where every tilt of the head and every sweep of fabric whispered a story. The result is a collection of portraits that feel like still frames from a lost classic—timeless, opulent, and unforgettable.
Alicia
Alicia was an absolute delight to welcome into the studio—a radiant presence whose beauty is matched only by her vibrant spirit. Even in daily life, she turns heads effortlessly, but it’s her warmth, humor, and genuine connection with people that make her unforgettable.
By night, Alicia takes the stage in a different way—as a singer and charismatic host at Charleston’s beloved Bangkok Lounge. There, she guides patrons through the joy (and occasional bravery) of karaoke, coaxing shy voices into song and turning an ordinary evening into a shared celebration.
In the studio, Alicia stepped into a different spotlight. Draped in a sleek, form-fitting bodysuit and enveloped in our own signature starlet robe—a cascade of endless tulle layers—she transformed before the lens into something cinematic. The play of light and shadow traced her curves, and her eyes carried that unmistakable glint of mystery. Looking at her portraits, one phrase rises instantly to mind: femme fatale. Every frame is charged with allure, power, and a touch of danger—the kind of presence that could stop a heart or start a story.
